SEKOLAH MONTE SIENNA
PARENTS SUPPORT GROUP
The Monte Sienna Parents Support Group (PSG) works hand-in-hand with and in support of the School. These comprise parent volunteers who unselfishly devote their time, expertise and effort to work with the School in nurturing our young.
Mission Statement
To support the school in providing quality education that is aimed at achieving the TOTAL DEVELOPMENT of the child:
- Academic Excellence,
- Character Development
- Service to Others.
Role and Responsibilities
- To be a platform for parents of the school to provide constructive/positive advice/input on various aspects of the school, including but not limited to academic, health, safety and any other relevant issues.
- To actively encourage involvement of parents so as to foster a positive partnership between home and school.
- To act as a resource to the school whenever required in various events or programmes set up by the school for the benefit of the students.
- To foster a healthy community of parents within the school so that home and school are able to work as a united body towards the vision and mission of the school.
Appointment of Class Parents
- To act as a communication bridge between teachers and parents of the class whenever required.
- To act as a resource for the teachers of the class whenever required.
- To give constructive input to the School for matters that concern the entire class or grade level.
- To support the PSG and/or School when organizing events that are specific to the class or the grade level or the School.
It should be noted that the presence of Class Parents, however, does not stop parents from communicating directly with School when needed. Class Parents will look into suggestions and issues that affect the majority of the students in the class. They will not handle personal issues concerning a particular child/parent as it is not the role of Class Parents or the PSG. Parents may communicate directly with the School or the relevant school personnel for such matters of personal or individual nature.
When giving input to the school or the PSG, parents should do so respectfully and tactfully as we work towards forming a community built on mutual respect for one another.
The PSG welcomes parents who are able and who wish to offer their expertise and time in serving/ working with the PSG in support of the school. Serving on the PSG does not afford members nor their children special treatment nor elevated status from the School. Members serve selflessly and voluntarily out of passion and conviction to make the school community a more vibrant and nurturing one for all within.
